India’s Global Capability Centres (GCCs) have seen a remarkable rebound in hiring volumes during the first quarter of FY26, showcasing a shift from quantity to quality recruitment practices. The sector is prioritizing high-value talent in emerging fields like AI, platform engineering, and cybersecurity to address critical skill shortages across various industries.

According to the latest report, hiring volumes in Q1 FY26 surged by 8-10%, a significant improvement compared to the previous quarter, which experienced a decline. This resurgence signifies a strategic move towards skill-centric recruitment strategies in the GCC landscape.

Key findings from the report highlight the growth in hiring within sectors such as BFSI, Manufacturing, and Tech Hardware, while witnessing a decline in sectors like hospitality, real estate, and infrastructure.

Kapil Joshi, CEO of IT Staffing at Quess Corp, emphasized the structural shift in India’s GCC landscape, focusing on capability-driven recruitment rather than sheer scale. The first quarter of FY26 marked a steady growth period with hiring volumes rising by 8-10% quarter-over-quarter, primarily driven by Tier-2 cities and key sectors like BFSI, Manufacturing, and Tech Hardware.

The report underscores a strategic hiring transformation in the GCC sector during Q1 FY26, with high-growth verticals including BFSI, Manufacturing, Automotive & Energy, and Technology & Hardware leading the demand for skilled professionals. Notably, BFSI and Manufacturing sectors witnessed a positive growth in market share, while traditional sectors faced challenges.

Quess Corp’s latest report, ‘India’s GCC Tech Talent Landscape,’ offers a comprehensive analysis of the evolving talent strategies within GCCs in India, aligning with evolving technology trends and global business demands.
